The use of plastic material for the production
of small volume parenterals has also increased significantly.
The convenience in use, the elimination of potential hazards
in handling, the safe and environmentally friendly disposal,
shatterproof transportation and low manufacturing cost,
are key factors for the use of this packaging material
when compared to glass ampoule production.

rommelag®'s reputation in the development
of packaging technology and design has made it the leader
in the field of small volume parenteral production as
well. |

The combination luer ampoule for all types
of small volume parenterals is an example of such a design
development. When luer fit or luer lock syringes are
used, the container allows for a connection and the direct withdrawal of the
product. There is no need for an additional needle. Other opening designs have
been developed in cooperation with customers. The twist-off design eliminates
the need for closure parts. Lot numbers and expiry codes are engraved during
ampoule moulding. Typical fill products are WFI, standard injectable solutions
and local anaesthetic solutions. |
